My Life Would Never Be the Same

Two years ago my life changed forever. Myself as I knew her was gone, my identity changed. I became a mother. Two years ago I gave up apart of me and gained another. Two years ago I was transformed by a little man with brown eyes. I remember 2 a.m. feedings, rocking him until we were both asleep, hurting both physically and emotionally, crying with him, snuggling sessions on my chest, diapers so large you needed a sanitation crew, high highs, low lows. I would never be the same. Brody is a chosen spirit. I know he was saved to be my boy. As I am writing this the tears cannot be held back. In the last two years I have come to realize and embrace the person I am. I am a mother. Happy Birthday Brodster!

Seriously So Blessed For Knowing People Who Have a Farm

My Aunt and Uncle live in Jerome Idaho, you probably have never heard of Jerome because it is located about 200 miles in the middle of nowhere. For reals it is like 30 minutes from Burley. They live on the pivot corner of one of the pieces of property they farm and grow sweet corn for us to partake of come this time of year.

Uncle Markie is in charge every year of cooking the corn. He then places it in the kiddie pool to cool off. My mother and her Aunt Gladys cut the corn off the cob and then I bagged it.
You can almost smell the sweet deliciousness of the corn. Come January we will have tasty corn to eat and enjoy.

We were so grateful for the two John Deere gators they own. Brody and Treg rode around the yard for most of the day and entertained themselves. One would chase the other and ram into the back of the other. They would then reverse rolls and chase the other person and ram into them. After Brody ran into the shed, the only tree in the yard and the cement flowerbed wall he got the concept of steering and using the gas pedal. I'm half tempted to acquire one of these said vehicles for someone's birthday in a few weeks. =)

A Little Peace and Quiet

Sometimes it's better when they both have something to plug their mouths with.

There Was a Bear and it was Mama

I can't imagine camping without a trailer. Really is there any other way to camp? The flushy is a must and the shower is a must. I love the made up bed that spiders can't crawl into and a place to go that isn't going to be flooded during a rainstorm. Hence, why I can tolerate camping. Brody and Blake on the other hand LOVE camping. My family had a reunion at my Uncle Joel's property which is located on the road up to Camp Bartlett, about 20 minutes away from Bear Lake.Brody says, "ride", "ride", "ride", "Mama ride", over and over again. He could live on the 4 wheeler. This picture just makes me want to bite his face off. OHhhhhhhhh I just love the kid.Sometimes though 4 wheeling is tough, and you just have to take a nap on Dad's lap. Mother of the year again, doesn't bring a swimming suit or swim diapers, so it's commando on the beach in a onesie. Thank heavens he waited to poop until we got back to the trailer.

We did shot gun shooting. My dad is front with the red hat on throwing the clay pigeon. My brother Nate is next in the number one seat, I was number two, my cousin Sam in the blue behind me and Paul in the purple shirt throwing the second clay pigeon. I was so grateful we didn't become a news story because there were so many guns, a lot of bullets and one lousy shooter (me).

My son, the budding photographer, shot this glamour picture of me at 6:34 a.m. It was just the best wake up call a mother could ask for.

It's Nice to Have Rich Friends

One of my best friends at work, and yes she is a best friend, is Emily. Emily is simply amazing. I love working with Emily. She inspires me to be a better person, in fact, she is the driving force behind my goal to swear less at work. She helps me stay on the straight and narrow and she is an incredible woman. I admire her so much. Her family owns "Fred's Marine" in Layton. She has been boating all her life and agreed to take Brody and me out boating the day before she left to go to Africa on a humanitarian mission with Mothers Without Borders...again...she is amazing. We had to "settle" for the $60,000 Tige (pronounced tie-ga, I learned) demo boat. I felt unworthy to ride in it. It was like I was in a Kid Rock video. We would've been if you replaced the three kids on board with size 0 models with DD breasts in skimpy bikinis, and the sippy cups with Corona. Brooke, Emily's sister-in-law let Brody drive the boat all by himself. He loved it. He thought it was great that he could turn the wheel and immediately feel a reaction. BTW, we went to Pineview and it was TOTALLY empty. So all you out their judging Brooke and I for letting him drive the boat...get over it. Emily loves to surf, which is like wakeboarding I'm told, but you don't go behind the wake, there are no bindings, and after you get going you just sit their and ride the wake. Pretty cool. She was very good.Brody saw Emily do it and so he wanted to try. All the kiddos. We had an awesome time and I was actually surprised at how safe a boat could be with children. Brody and the girls were very well behaved and my blood pressure only skyrocketed once.

Because we had this, we got this...

Even uploading the picture of this violent, foul, disgusting creature gave me the heebee jeebees. We have had not one, not two, not three, but four mice in our house in the last two weeks or so. Absolutely gross. There were a few instances that we won't go into detail about, maybe a 10:00 p.m. phone call to a neighbor that lives a mile and a half away to come down and exterminate the mouse that I saw while Blake was gone hunting. Maybe there were a few overreactions that caused my son to whail and cry when he saw mommy whailing and crying. Maybe there was a dry heaving episode. Maybe DCFS will be contacted because someone full on hit their husband out of anger...who knows?!? All those "hypothetical" situations aside I finally caved in and Blake came home with this...
His or Her name is Charlie. I really can't tell if it's a boy or a girl. I tried blowing through the fur and I'm still not sure. He/She has yet to catch anything but he/she is very aggressive and will tackle anything moving. I'm holding out we got a good mouser. I don't want to go on anxiety medication and that's the next step.
